Probiotics help rheumatoid arthritis symptoms
This study explored how probiotic supplementation affects patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) over eight weeks.

We analyzed the results from sixty patients, split into groups receiving either probiotics or placebo.

The findings showed that those taking probiotics experienced a notable improvement in joint health, as well as reductions in insulin levels and inflammation markers.

We observed that the probiotics had a positive impact on overall metabolic health, significantly benefitting those with RA.

Probiotics reduce oral candidiasis
This study looked at how probiotics help reduce oral candidiasis in Sjögren's syndrome patients. We divided 32 participants into two groups: one received probiotics, while the other got a placebo for five weeks.

By the end of the trial, those taking probiotics showed a significant decrease in candidal growth, unlike the placebo group who did not see any notable change. This suggests that probiotics could be a promising alternative for preventing oral thrush in these patients.

We examined the role of probiotics in managing systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) using various mouse models. Through a systematic review of 12 studies, we found that certain probiotic strains, including L. acidophilus, significantly decreased levels of inflammatory markers while boosting anti-inflammatory responses.

These positive changes led to longer periods of remission and a reduction in disease flare-ups. However, although these results are promising, more human clinical trials are needed to fully understand the safety and effectiveness of probiotics for SLE.

Regular bowel movements

This has helped me tremendously! I’ve struggled with intestinal issues since childhood, including irregular stool and bloating, with a diagnosis of an autoimmune disorder known as irritable bowel syndrome. I tried numerous probiotics and wasted so much money. After reading reviews about this complex probiotic, I decided to try it and I’m thrilled with the outcome. After just one tablet at night, I noticed improvements, including regular bowel movements twice a day. It’s consistently in my basket now, and I’ll also be getting it for my mum. The price is fantastic, and most importantly, it works wonders!

I ordered probiotics to support my intestinal microflora after suffering from COVID. They are budget-friendly, and I noticed results almost immediately; my digestion improved, stools normalised, and bloating disappeared. I even made yogurt from one capsule, and it worked well. I will order more and recommend these.

LA enhances Tacrolimus efficacy
We investigated the effects of combining lactic acid (LA) with Tacrolimus (Tac) on treating lupus in mice. By administering both treatments, we observed an improvement in gut health and a balanced ratio of T cell subsets.

The combination therapy significantly decreased harmful autoantibody levels and improved kidney health. Additionally, it boosted regulatory T (Treg) cells while reducing T helper 17 (Th17) cells, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of Tac for managing lupus-like conditions.

Probiotic shows promise for rheumatoid arthritis
We assessed how Lactobacillus casei, a type of probiotic bacteria, impacted autoimmune responses in rats with rheumatoid arthritis. The treatment showed promise, significantly reducing joint swelling and preventing bone destruction by restoring the gut microbiome.

The analysis revealed that L. casei not only helped correct microbiome imbalances but also lowered inflammation indicators. Though these results are promising, further investigation is needed to confirm the effectiveness of probiotics in human arthritis treatment.

Synbiotics improve rheumatoid arthritis outcomes
We examined how synbiotic supplementation impacts patients with rheumatoid arthritis over 8 weeks. In our double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 54 participants, we found that those taking synbiotics experienced significant improvements. These included lower inflammation markers such as hs-CRP and better joint pain scores on the DAS-28 and VAS.

Additionally, improvements were noted in insulin resistance and oxidative stress markers, hinting at potential metabolic benefits. Overall, our findings suggest that synbiotic treatment could play a role in managing some aspects of rheumatoid arthritis effectively.

Probiotic IRT5 reduces diabetes effects
We examined how a special probiotic mix, known as IRT5, affects autoimmune diabetes in non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice. Administered frequently over 36 weeks, this combination not only reduced diabetes incidence but also lowered insulitis scores and increased insulin-producing β-cell mass.

Additionally, IRT5 improved gut health and changed the makeup of immune cells in the pancreas and intestines. While some immune responses stayed the same, the shift towards more gut-focused regulatory T cells suggests it could be a promising treatment for type 1 diabetes.

We assessed the potential benefits of synbiotics on inflammation in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune condition impacting various organs. In a randomized, double-blind trial, 50 participants received either standard treatment with synbiotics or standard treatment alone for two months.

Remarkably, those on synbiotics showed significant reductions in inflammatory markers and SLE activity scores, while the placebo group showed no substantial changes. This suggests that synbiotics might serve as a helpful additional therapy for SLE management. However, more research is needed to understand how this works.

I used this when facing gastrointestinal disorder alongside antibiotic treatment and it helped tremendously. The whole family took it, and my stomach felt fine without needing additional prebiotics. I recommend taking it for 1-2 days if facing issues due to my autoimmune disorder.

Sjögren's syndrome and gut bacteria
We investigated how Lactobacillus acidophilus and propionate may influence Sjögren's syndrome, an autoimmune disorder affecting glands. By studying mice over 24 weeks, we recorded changes in saliva production and examined their salivary glands.

Our findings indicate that Lactobacillus acidophilus improved symptoms of Sjögren's syndrome. Specifically, it enhanced beneficial bacteria that produce propionate, which in turn helped regulate the STIM1-STING signaling pathway involved in the disease.

Therefore, Lactobacillus acidophilus, alongside propionate, shows promise as a therapeutic option for Sjögren's syndrome.

Probiotics reduce RA inflammation markers
We investigated how a mix of probiotics affects inflammation in individuals with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In a rigorously designed 60-day study, 42 participants were split into two groups, one receiving probiotics and the other a placebo.

The results showed a notable drop in certain inflammatory markers in the probiotic group, including white blood cells and specific cytokines. Furthermore, they exhibited improvements in oxidative stress indicators. However, not all measured factors showed significant differences, indicating that while probiotics can help, their full impact on RA may vary.
